CONtest - Shirt Design Theme for #G2S2022
Both Stumptown and Granite Game Summits happened early in 2020 and they were luckily one of the last good memories before a long period of uncertainty. When we decided to bring back Granite Game Summit in 2022, we were still uncertain if we would be able to pull it off. We wanted to make sure our event was as safe and happy as it possibly could be. So we charged ahead with what made our event great at its core.
With all this reflection of the past and a coming back together our t-shirt design grew from there. As the design evolved an overall theme emerged. We wanted to represent everything that got us to this event.
The overall theme is all of our events over the years leading us to #G2S2022. Each line representing a year with stops where our events took place. You can see the 2020 line breaking apart because of the pandemic and reforming in late 2021 with a heartbeat. This leads to the hex in the middle that is the 2022 event.
Here are the elements that make up the design:
Train game themed, with Hexes and Lines (Age of Steam, 18XX, etc.)
Represents the history/timeline of Granite Game Summit
Lines are years, starting with 2016 at top and years going around the center hex
The dots on the lines represent the different Game Summit events
Center hex is this event for 2022
2020 line breaks up during because of the pandemic
As the line breaks apart it turns into Morse Code that repeats S.O.S.
2021 line reforms, and there is a heartbeat showing G2S is coming back
The heartbeat represents Pandemic the game
Solid hex dots are G2S events
Hollow hex dots are SGS events
Hollow square dot is ReUnity
Broken hex dot is VGS
All the train lines and stops along the way have brought us to 2022
