Lief and Sani Morin
Today we are featuring Lief and Sani Morin of Postscript Games. Postscript Games is the next project for Lief and Sani Morin after their careers in the technology and child rearing industries! Their focus is on creating quality and fun board games that can be played many times and then handed down to the next generation. We believe that board games connect people together and create a community. They inspire creativity and allow us to imagine and experience different worlds and cultures. And most importantly, to have a great time with family and friends in the absence of the ever present shackles of the digital world. They will be showing off their game Takara this year in Designer Alley at #SGS20!
GAME DESCRIPTION:
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. You are a traveler in feudal Japan seeking Takara – the seven treasures of Buddhism. Create beautiful landscape scenes as you seek and find the seven treasures. Stay focused as your fellow travelers are doing the same and will both hinder and help you along the way. Stay calm and bring honor and enlightenment to your village by being the first to complete the quest.
This a strategic tile placement game with extensive player interaction. Players are travelers and move to the villages and temples on the board to collect the treasures of the lands. Along the way, they will be hindered and helped by other travelers, spirits and actions that are bringing just enough unpredictability to the strategic, collaborative and competitive gameplay.
WHAT STANDS OUT ABOUT THE GAME:
Creating landscape scenes while ultimately hunting for hidden treasures sounds like it makes an exciting and peaceful journey. I’m always intrigued by competitive games that require some collaborative play.
