Lisa Reinke

We are excited to be welcoming Lisa Reinke to this year’s Designer Alley at #G2S2025!

A little bit about Lisa, written in her own words.

Hello G2Sers!  I am Lisa Reinke, a lifelong gamer and a regular attendee of Granite Game Summit from New London, New Hampshire.  Over the years, I have created some game components, variants and modules to enjoy with friends, but I have never developed a free standing game.  Last July, I started having dreams about a game that involved presenting small trinkets to creatures that like treasure troves.  I laughed, told my husband, and waited for the dreams to fade.  Instead, my brain kept fleshing out the idea and I knew I had to at least get it to the game table for playtesting. I showcased the first draft with my friends and their families.  The tweens and teens were particularly keen on the game and thought it great fun.  This was great news since I consider it to be a playground game for the young at heart that mixes collecting with gaming.  My experienced gamer friends also enjoyed the game and gave me great feedback on mechanics.  Now I’m ready for my game to have more exposure to a variety of players.  I’m not certain what happens next, but I’m looking forward to introducing the game to you.

THREE RANDOM FACTS ABOUT LISA:

  • She actually does have many caches of small trinkets scattered around her home.  She recently learned treasure troving is a “thing” and is worthy of showcasing on social media.  Who knew?

  • Lisa is an artist, a gamer, and an explorer.  She has sold over 100 oil paintings to various collectors; and is a vendor at many comic and fan conventions where she sells her graphic designs on beermats and coasters.  Lisa even once had a vendor table at G2S and made beermats for the summit!  She lived in Singapore for four years so her passports have many stamps on them.

  • Her favorite convention is Granite Game Summit but she has attended Gen Con annually since 1991.  She has a large group that makes the pilgrimage and they are rapidly joining her here at Granite Game Summit too.  Lisa is missing this year’s Gen Con for the first time to go to Iceland and Greenland.

LISA WILL BE SHOWING OFF HER GAME SCRAPYARD SHOWCASE IN DESIGNER ALLEY AT #G2S2025

Scrapyard Showcase:

You are invited to gather ‘round and showcase your beloved trinkets*:  shiny, squishy, sparkly, slotted, junked and silly for the scrapyard residents to admire and judge.  Everyone has been invited!  The crows, moles, mice, trolls, hens, worms, fairies — all the little communities that live on the other side of the fence or under the Scrapyard are lining up to see the Showcase.  They will be awarding you favor beans if your little objects delight them.  Beware our resident thief, Felix the Filch, who may sow some chaos into the showcase and your collection.  You win if you have the most favor beans in your pot at the end of the game.

*Trinkets will be provided, but feel free to search your stuff and provide a few of your own.

This is a playground game:   Play to win the most points.  Collect and bring small trinkets from your life that fit on a poker chip to showcase.
Risk your items for rewards by showcasing them.  Exchange your old trinkets for new ones.  Build a unique Scrapyard game for yourself and your friends to play.

You can find more of Lisa’s art, and possibly her game Scrapyard Showcase if she decides to self publish it here:
