Today we are feature Aaron Franco, designer of Hunker, which he will be showing off in Designer Alley.
GAME DESCRIPTION:
Hunker is a competitive strategy game for 2-4 players ages 9+ about woodland animal friends preparing for the winter. You’ll forage for food to stash away, build shelters, direct the falling snow, and-because one of the main themes of the game is friendship-do favors and interact with other players to earn bonus points. Once the last snow tile is placed on the board, the remaining players in the round take their turns, final bonuses are tallied, and the winner is declared!
WHAT STANDS OUT ABOUT THE GAME:
The theme is delightful, who doesn’t want to help an animal prepare to hunker down for winter? The bonuses for assisting other players in a competitive game is a mechanism that is rarely used and fits the them quite well.
